Cocaine found in vehicle with child, 2 arrested for drug trafficking and endangerment by CCSO

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Two people are facing drug trafficking and child engenderment charges after cocaine, cash, and drug paraphernalia were found in their vehicle by deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies initiated the traffic stop on Oct. 15 near North Main Street and Clark Avenue around 6 p.m. as the driver was observed not wearing a seatbelt and failing to signal. The deputy also had previous knowledge that the driver did not possess a license, according to an arrest report. After being pulled over two adults exited the vehicle unprompted, with a child remaining in the backseat.

The driver was identified as 42-year-old Steven Black, and the passenger as 37-year-old Heather Ramsey, both from Hopkinsville. The suspects consented to a search, and deputies located two clear bags of cocaine inside a bag in Ramsey’s possession.
