Recess advocate group asks Tennessee school board for recess time for middle schoolers

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A recess advocate group addressed the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board during the public comment period at Tuesday’s meeting.

The group, Say Yes to Recess, is asking for recess time for middle school students.

“We have labor laws that protect adults from going all day without a break, yet we offer middle schools nothing more than five-minute transitions between classes,” said Say Yes to Recess member and mother to three children in CMCSS schools, Rachel Bush.
