CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Motorists ran into delays Sunday night due to a two-vehicle crash that shut down Interstate 24 West in Clarksville for about an hour.
The Clarksville Police Department said the crash occurred shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26 between a passenger vehicle and a semi-tractor-trailer.

According to officials, all westbound lanes were closed near mile marker 2 on I-24, so traffic was diverted off the interstate at Exit 4 while personnel cleared the road. Authorities encouraged motorists to seek alternate routes and expect significant delays.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s SmartWay traffic map said the crash-related closure was reported at 7:33 p.m., but the the crash marker disappeared by 8:35 p.m., indicating I-24 West had reopened.
