Jaidon Hurst inspires Springfield’s postseason run despite ACL tear

Jaidon Hurst spent his night patrolling the sideline on crutches and watched from afar as his Springfield teammates decimated Lexington 37-6 in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Hurst has been restricted to the sideline since he tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in Springfield’s 32-7 win over Liberty Creek on Oct. 3.

Despite his injury, head coach Dustin Wilson sent him out as the Yellow Jackets’ lone team captain for the coin toss at the start of Springfield’s (11-1) first two playoff games…
