1 Dead, 6 Injured Including Teens and Infant in Montgomery County Collision on Dover Road

A fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred on Friday in Montgomery County, resulting in one death and leaving six individuals, including an infant and several teens, with injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place on Dover Road at the North Liberty Church Road intersection around 5:15 p.m., as detailed by WKRN.

The driver who was killed, identified as David Johnson, 56, from North Carolina, was reportedly driving a 2011 Honda Fit on the wrong side of Dover Road. According to the THP, Johnson’s vehicle ran a red light and sideswiped a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu before colliding with a 2020 Nissan Kicks and a 2016 Nissan Versa. Information obtained by WSMV stated that Johnson was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident and consequently died from his injuries.

The THP clarified that all passengers in the Nissan Kicks—two 19-year-old women, a 16-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old boy—sustained injuries in the crash. Additionally, a 19-year-old woman and an infant girl, less than a year old, in the Nissan Versa were also hurt.
