Out of 25,000 applicants, Christian County student gets full ride scholarship to Yale University

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A senior from Christian County High School is one of 2,500 students nationwide who will receive a highly sought after and competitive full ride scholarship that will allow him to attend Yale University.

According to Christian County Public Schools, Samuel Norwine won the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship, which is a comprehensive aid package that will allow him to attend Yale. This specific scholarship is a highly competitive program for high school seniors seeking admission and a full four-year scholarship from a select list of elite colleges.

In 2025, more than 25,000 students applied to QuestBridge, with 7,288 selected as finalists. Of those, just 2,550 students across the United States were awarded full four-year scholarships, which includes Samuel. CCPS says that he plans to pursue a career as a medical examiner and was matched with Yale in early December after months of evaluation…
