CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was awarded its Tier 1 Accreditation on December 3, 2025, by the Tennessee Corrections Institute. This marks a tremendous milestone for the Sheriff’s Office and the commitment of the staff of the Detention Services Bureau in meeting the newly enhanced standards.
Under state law, the Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI) is required to establish minimum standards for detention facilities across the state. In addition to the minimum standards, TCI developed optional Tier 1 and Tier 2 standards in 2021.
