CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Since its inception in May, Cheatham County’s absconder unit has been hot on the trail of dozens of fugitives who are now accounted for.
According to Sgt. Ryan Hawkins with the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, the unit has served more than 220 outstanding warrants and made roughly 70 arrests over the past seven months. One of those arrests occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 10 in Ashland City.
Authorities told News 2 they had been looking for a 37-year-old chronic offender, Billy Joe Anderson, for weeks. Body camera footage from Wednesday shows law enforcement entering a small home after receiving a tip amid their search for Anderson.
