A 16-year-old boy was injured following a shooting in Clarksville over the weekend. WKRN reports that the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is actively investigating the incident that took place on Chinook Circle just after 1 p.m. yesterday.
First responders found the teen with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh. The CPD confirmed in a statement, the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Despite the violence, police indicated that there is no ongoing danger to the community. “Preliminary investigation indicates this was not a random incident, and there does not appear to be an active threat to residents in the area or the community at large,” CPD stated, as quoted in a WSMV article.
While the investigation continues, officers remain on the scene, gathering evidence and canvassing the area for potential witnesses and surveillance footage. The police have issued a call to Chinook Circle residents, urging those with outdoor security cameras to review their footage and contact 911 if they find anything that could be related to the shooting.
