Portland police arrest wanted man as result of traffic stop

Portland police conducted a traffic stop last week that led to the arrest of a man wanted in Montgomery County on multiple charges.

According to the Portland Police Department, an officer on routine patrol observed a white Mercedes-Benz with dark window tint who reportedly exhibited signs of nervousness when the driver spotted the patrol car.

The driver allegedly abruptly came to a halt in the roadway to turn into the closest gas station, only to park for a period of time before leaving the store. The registered owner of the vehicle, Matthew Ortiz, 32, reportedly had a suspended license for failure to satisfy fines/costs/taxes in criminal offense out of Montgomery County. A traffic stop was conducted and Ortiz was found to have a felony sealed indictment/capias out of Montgomery County on charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, unlawful drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver psilocybin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver THC, possession of a firearm with the intent to go armed and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon…
