HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Public Schools’ Board of Education approved the purchase of a new special needs bus and multiple construction change orders for the new Christian County High School.
During the Dec. 18 meeting, Director of Transportation Mike Brumley presented the board with an opportunity to purchase a new special needs bus at a discounted price. Brumley said the bus was originally ordered by another district that later decided not to move forward with the purchase.
As a result, the manufacturer offered the bus to Christian County at a reduced cost, saving the district $10,785 off the original purchase price. He said the district would also avoid the longer wait time typically associated with ordering a new bus. The bus can be delivered by the second week of January.
