Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Dept. battles trio of blazes

Local firefighters had their hands full Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 dealing with fires in Ashland City and Pleasant View that caused significant property damage but thankfully, no lives were lost.

According to Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department Shift Commander Drew Akin, the PVVFD and Ashland City Fire Department were dispatched to a single-family home on Neptune Road on the afternoon of Dec. 14. The initial report, Akin said, claimed a Christmas tree on the back porch caught fire and spread to the rest of the house.

The residence was occupied by a single mother and three children, all of whom safely escaped. Akin said the four family members were transported to a local hospital and checked for smoke inhalation and then released. Akin did not release the names of the family members…
