On Monday, Dec. 15, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, along with several other city employees and department heads, spent a portion of their workday in wheelchairs to experience some of the challenges faced by disabled people in the city.
Alex Johnson, who is disabled, challenged the city employees with the task, assisted by the Permobil Foundation and the “Spend the Day in My Wheels” project.
The challenge was also accepted in Clarksville in 2023. The experience is used to help educate communities on how to approach accessibility issues for disabled citizens…
