AMES – The new Iowa State coaching staff is continuing to add to its defense through the transfer portal.
Austin Peay linebacker Montreze Smith Jr. has committed to Iowa State after a one-year stint with the Governors. Smith previously played at Duke and Western Kentucky.
Smith started his career at Duke in 2023, playing in four games with the Blue Devils. He recorded just one tackle for Manny Diaz in the four games he played with the Blue Devils. After his first season, he transferred to Western Kentucky for the spring 2025 semester…
