The Town of Dover Board of Mayor and Aldermen met at City Hall December 8 with all members present.
First on the agenda, Police Chief Scott Bickford gave the police report. “For the month of November, we had 194 traffic stops. We issued 105 citations, we gave 99 warnings, we had five misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest.” Bickford also thanked Patty Page and Dr. Phillip Wallace with the Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas parade. “I think overall it went over very well.” Bickford added, all officers received a four hour training on the use of Narcan. Bickford noted each officer is required by the State to get 40 hours minimum training to keep their certification. He said as of December, the department has over 2,000 hours and the officers have, “Gone above and beyond what’s required of them. It shows me and should show everyone, this department and the men we have working here, go the extra mile to not only better themselves but also use this extra training to implement within the community, with the needed knowledge so we can provide better service to our citizens.”
Fire Captain Jonathan Crockarell was not at the meeting, so Bickford gave the Fire report for the month of November. “The fire department had five calls for service this month and over 150 hours of volunteer hours,”…
