Pleasant View to focus on generating revenue for infrastructure, greater law enforcement presence

As we enter the new year, many local government leaders are looking for ways to implement goals for the new year. For Pleasant View and longstanding Mayor Bill Anderson, the focus over the next year will be to make life for businesses and citizens as safe and “pleasant” as possible.

Anderson told The Cheatham County Exchange that one goal for the town is finding new revenue sources to help with its regular operations and making improvements to infrastructure.

Pleasant View is the only one of Cheatham County’s four municipalities that doesn’t have its own property tax, though owners with property within the municipal limits still pay the Cheatham County property tax. It is also the only part of Cheatham County that collects 2.25 percent for the local tax instead of the maximum 2.75 percent allowed by Tennessee state law, and that local tax is shared between the town and the county…
