Henderson shooting suspect arrested in Tennessee

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Henderson Police Department (HPD) made an arrest in relation to a motel shooting.

HPD says on December 28, 2025, officers responded to the Downtown Motel at 425 North Green Street in reference to a shooting. Officers found one person who had been shot, and he was transported to a local hospital for his injuries which did not appear to be life-threatening. HPD notes detectives responded to the scene and conducted an investigation leading to the identification of the suspect. On December 30, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Menelik H. Brank, 46, of Henderson.

Evansville police say man “squared up” and flung boulder in gas station fight

Police say on January 12, 2026, Brank was arrested in reference to the shooting. Officials say Brank was arrested in Clarksville, Tennessee with the assistance of the US Marshals Service and the Clarksville Police Department.

Officials note Brank is being held at the Montgomery County Tennessee Detention Center until being extradited back to Henderson. Brank is being charged with Assault 1st Degree…
