Over $17K raised through Cheatham County Polar Plunge

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Members of the Cheatham County community raised more than $17,000 Sunday by “Freezin’ for a Reason!”

Elected officials, teams, and individuals, including local nonprofit Bruce’s Buddies, jumped into a frigid pool at Riverbluff Park in Ashland City on Sunday, Jan. 18 to support Special Olympics Tennessee.

Even though the pool’s temperature was 40 degrees, people dressed up in costumes ranging from tropical themes to cold weather animals to take a dip. Every brave participant who jumped received a medal.
