Middle Tennessee government offices closed Monday, Jan. 26

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — As the winter storm continues to bring freezing rain, sleet, snow, and ice to Middle Tennessee, a number of communities have announced city office closures for Monday, Jan. 26.

So far, the winter storm has brought a half-inch blanket of ice across Nashville, prompting hundreds of thousands of power outages across the city. Metro Nashville Public Schools announced they will be closed Monday and Tuesday; a number of other school districts across Middle Tennessee announced closures or remote learning days for Monday.

Montgomery County

In Montgomery County, all government offices will be closed both Monday, Jan. 26, and Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Clarksville government offices also announced a Monday closure due to the heavy winter precipitation over the weekend. Essential city personnel will be on duty as usually, and all “essential city services” will continue despite the office closure, according to the city.
