Clarksville neighbors’ brave icy roads for groceries as refreeze raises new safety concern

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Even as icy conditions lingered across Clarksville, many residents still ventured out Monday to make essential grocery runs, saying they simply ran out of food and had little choice but to get on the road.

Parking lots were noticeably busier earlier in the day as sunshine helped melt some ice, giving drivers a brief window to get out. But as temperatures dropped Monday night, much of that melted snow and ice began to refreeze, raising new concerns about road safety.
