After receiving input for several weeks on the potential expansion of a downtown Clarksville homeless shelter, Clarksville Area Urban Ministries has decided to pause its plans with the city to purchase The Well.
The Clarksville City Council had pushed until March consideration of an ordinance allowing a partnership with Urban Ministries to purchase The Well and expand its services.
The Well, located at 224 Union Street, is the current ministry of the Trenton Crossing Church of Christ. The church uses the building to serve hot meals two days a week, help the homeless population with clothing and allow them to attend services there on Sundays…
