Christian County Public Schools to remain closed Monday; district will provide food bundles for students

Christian County Public Schools will remain closed Monday because of “lingering impacts from the winter storm and continued extreme cold temperatures,” the district announced Sunday afternoon.

Across Hopkinsville and Christian County, major roads are clear but many side streets, parking lots, sidewalks and county roads are still packed with snow and ice from the winter storm that brought roughly 4 inches of snow and ice the weekend of Jan. 24.

Monday will be a non-traditional instruction day, or NTI day, but schools will remain flexible in cases where power outages and “other unforeseen circumstances” make it difficult for students to complete school work at home…
