Alcorn State University is recognizing one of its accomplished alumni this Black History Month, highlighting a career defined by service, leadership, and global impact.
Lt. Col. Alicia E. King, a native of Liberty, Mississippi, and a 2006 graduate of Alcorn State University, continues to exemplify the institution’s “Always Alcorn” spirit through her commitment to military service and professional excellence. King earned her commission as a Military Intelligence Officer while attending Alcorn and later obtained a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship from American Military University.
Her military career includes multiple combat deployments and leadership assignments across the world. From 2008 to 2009, King deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She later served in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where she assumed command of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade…
