Clarksville council deadlocks on two candidates in Ward 2, postponing vote

The City of Clarksville and Ward 2 residents will have to wait to see who will be interim representative after city council postponed the vote.

The Clarksville City Council met on Feb. 11 to vote on who would be the interim representative of Ward 2, following the resignation of Deanna McLaughlin to aid in the office of U.S. Rep. Matt Van Epps, R-Tennessee, 7th District.

After two hours and a deadlock, the council voted to postpone the vote as each vote ended in a tie between Army veteran Eric Claunch and Marine Corps staff sergeant AC Lopez.
