A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for assault and wanton endangerment-related crimes on Friday.
Forty-three-year-old Leon Davie of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree fleeing or evading police and alcohol intoxication in a public place after he reportedly struck a female victim with a hammer on December 13, 2025. The victim reportedly told officers that Davie and her boyfriend began to argue, and she grabbed Davie’s hands to try to deescalate the altercation, but he ended up hitting her in the head with the hammer.
Forty-one-year-old Richard Woodson of Hopkinsville was indicted for multiple charges after he reportedly got into a physical altercation with law enforcement officers on November 27, 2025. He was charged with first-degree strangulation, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, two counts of third-degree assault of a police officer, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle and other traffic offenses…
