The Houston County Fire Department is very happy to announce that they have been selected by the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s office to receive the Volunteer Firefighter Equipment and Training Grant. The grant award is in the sum of $31,890 for new fire hoses and tester. Currently, they have a lot of hoses that are past their lifespan of 10 years with some hoses on the trucks of 20 years or more. This grant money will bring every truck into compliance and allow them to test the hose yearly, also as required.
“We are very thankful for this opportunity! Thank you to Mayor Joey Brake and especially his staff for getting this completed.” the HCFD said on Facebook…
