CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Military Affairs Committee hosted their annual Eagle Ambassador Breakfast on Feb. 25. Volunteers, Gold Star Families, service members, along with city and county officials gathered at Oak Grove Gaming, Racing & Hotel to celebrate the accomplishments of the MAC and discuss future goals.
Director of Military Affairs Shannon Lane said that he has always aspired to expand their reach throughout the region. During the breakfast he officially announced a title change for the MAC, which will now be known as the Southwestern Kentucky Military Affairs Committee.
“We all are just trying to come together to make sure that we make the biggest impact and give the loudest voice we can in advocacy for our military,” said Lane. He added that they are welcoming in four neighboring counties in partnership with Christian County, with prospects extending from Murray to Caldwell County.
Reasons for expanding the MAC, 2025 accomplishments
The goal of the MAC is to help enhance the community and make it an ideal place for military families to live, work, shop, and enjoy through various initiatives, events and resources. They were involved in over 100 events in 2025, several of which incorporated neighboring counties…
