Cordova toddler murder suspect captured in Ashland City

A week-long manhunt and the coordinated efforts of several law enforcement agencies across the Volunteer State resulted in an arrest in Ashland City.

According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service, its Middle Tennessee Fugitive Task Force arrested Robert L. Newton, 35, on Tuesday, Feb. 23, on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse of a victim under the age of eight and child abuse of a victim under the age of six.
