The David and Goliath story that united Cheatham County residents of all ilks may finally be drawing to a close.
County music artist and Cheatham County resident John Rich announced on his social media pages March 3 that the Tennessee Valley Authority plans to dispose of the land it purchased for its proposed Cheatham generation site, a natural gas powered electric generation plant in Cheatham County off Lockertsville Road.
The project has been a source of controversy and nonstop opposition from Cheatham County residents and elected officials for the last few years since it was first announced, citing environmental, health, infrastructure, safety and traffic concerns.
