Houston County High School cheerleaders place fifth in the nation at National Championship

The Houston County High School cheerleading team earned national recognition after placing fifth in the nation at the National High School Cheerleading Championship, held Feb. 1, 2026, in Orlando, Fla.

The competition, hosted at the Walt Disney World Resort, brought together some of the best high school cheer programs from across the country. This marked the second year in a row the Houston County squad has competed at the national championship after a 15-year absence from the event.

New to the team this year was their participation in the Traditional Routine Division. The cheerleaders successfully advanced through preliminary rounds and into the finals, ultimately finishing fifth overall in the nation.
