Middle Tennessee colleges adjust as national enrollment declines

Colleges and university leaders across the country are preparing for an “enrollment cliff,” as a result of declining birth rates, predicted to shrink the number of high school graduates, according to reporting by USA TODAY.

At the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, officials believe they are “well-positioned” to handle the “enrollment cliff,” as it aims to enroll 85,000 students across its campuses by 2030, the Knoxville Sentinel reported.
