Cheatham County Commission votes to accept Eastland Farms conservancy parcel

The Cheatham County Commission voted in March to accept a conservancy parcel for over ten acres in Eastland Farms in Ashland City, with several residents coming out to the workshop in support of the move.

The county had originally purchased the land in 2010 as a “green space” but had not completed all the requirements for the conservatory. County Commission Chairman and 2nd District member Tim Williamson explained, “Cheatham County hereby accepts ownership of the conservancy parcel, with such parcel being the real property described, conveyed by warranty deed in the Register of Deed’s office. This reaffirms how the property was originally set up, and the county commission apparently never voted to take it as county property.” as

Williamson asked the county attorney to draw up the resolution for the commission to vote to accept the parcel in the county property. “It’s in the county’s name right now, the deed books and everything, but we need to vote on this resolution to make it official,” Williamson said…
