A tough day south of the state line Friday for the Christian County Colonels. The Colonels loss to Indiana teams from Avon and Pendleton Heights.
In the opening game of the day, Avon got out to a 3-0 lead and then put the game away with a four-run bottom of the fifth to hand the Colonels a 7-1 loss.
Christian County’s lone run in the game came in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single from Chase Fort. At that point, the Colonels closed to within 3-1, but Avon grabbed the momentum back in the fifth inning to go on to the win…
