City council moves towards rezoning land for Clarksville’s new VA Clinic

The Clarksville City Council approved the first of two readings on an ordinance rezoning the nearly 62 acres of land for the planned Veterans Affairs (VA) Clinic, with a groundbreaking set for late summer.

On Thursday, April 2, the council unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance to rezone the property from an AG Agricultural District to a C-5 Highway & Arterial Commercial District. It is located off I-24’s Exit 4 on Pastor Willie J. Freeman Memorial Parkway, formerly known as Spring Creek Parkway.

The land is west of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard as the new parkway, still under construction, intersects with Edgewood Place, just behind Walmart…
