HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Police Department shared insight regarding the arrests of individuals who have recently been arrested for being under the influence of narcotics and other substances will on public roadways or public spaces.
“Public intoxication can present safety concerns not only for the individual involved, but also for the community,” HPD Public Information Officer Justin Rios told Christian County Now. Most recently on April 2, a woman who was exhibiting sings of drug use was seen by officers walking down the sidewalk of North Drive yelling and acting erratically before she was taken into custody.
An arrest can occur for this particular charge when a person’s disruptive behavior is indicative to being under the influence of alcohol or another substance such as narcotics.
