CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two local leaders, Pastor Willie J. Freeman and the Rev. Alvin O. Oldham, will be honored with street designations, approved during the Clarksville City Council meeting on April 2.
Each resolution was passed unanimously. Spring Creek Parkway, which is still under construction, will have the honorary designation Pastor Willie J. Freeman Memorial Parkway. Peachers Mill Road from Tiny Town Road to 101st Airborne Division Parkway will have the honorary designation Reverend Alvin O. Oldham Sr. Memorial Road.
“We are designating parts of the roads in honor and memory of Clarksvillians who have made significant contributions to the community, or our nation,” Mayor Joe Pitts said, adding that ceremonies to unveil the signs will be planned.
