CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Commission approved the land donation and planned development for a Public Safety Complex in the Kirkwood area during their formal meeting on Monday night.
After the meeting, Clarksville Now learned the Public Safety Complex will be a more than 32,000-square-foot facility, which will serve as the headquarters for the Montgomery County Fire Department.
In addition, the Public Safety Complex will also be the county’s first dedicated fire station, as well as the first Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office precinct office.
Public Safety Complex needed in growing area
According to the resolution, as Montgomery County’s unincorporated area has grown, so has the need for a strategic location for law enforcement, firefighters and other public safety personnel.
This led Montgomery County to come to terms with Rossview Farms LLC, the developer behind the Marcelina mixed-use community for land within a 3-mile radius of the Kirkwood Schools Campus.
