Teenager arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 14-year-old in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot on 15th Avenue South, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

Gaige Santos-Brown, age 14, was approached by three teenagers just after 6:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South when shots were fired, critically injuring him. Santos-Brown was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to a press release from the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Detectives identified 16-year-old Kenneth Washington as one of the suspects involved in the shooting. Washington was arrested overnight and charged with felony murder and violation of supervised release, the department stated…
