Allegiant Airlines moves into PHL, with a nonstop route to Phillies spring training coming this fall

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Phillies fans will have a new way to get to Clearwater, Florida, come next year’s spring training.

Philadelphia International Airport welcomed a new airline on Thursday: Allegiant Airlines.

Allegiant offers twice-weekly nonstop service between Des Moines, Iowa; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Grand Rapids, Michigan. But come Oct. 2, there will be another key destination for Phillies fans: St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport…
