Morning Fire Rips Through St. Petersburg Home, Sends One To Hospital

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A St. Petersburg neighborhood woke up to heavy smoke and flames this morning as firefighters rushed to battle a residential structure fire.

The emergency began shortly after 7:00 a.m. when St. Petersburg Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to a home near 18th Avenue South and 22nd Street South. Upon pulling up to the scene, first responders encountered heavy smoke and active flames pouring out of the house.

Firefighters quickly jumped into action on two fronts, initiating fire suppression operations to knock down the flames while simultaneously searching the property to ensure everyone inside got out safely…
