One person arrested following hit-and-run incident in Florida

FLORIDA — A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that sent a vehicle into a St. Petersburg home and sparked a fire earlier this week.

According to police, 37-year-old Kendric Dennard Stephens was arrested days after the crash and is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, driving while license suspended, canceled or revoked, and violation of probation.

The crash occurred just before 3 a.m. on June 8 along 14th Avenue South. Investigators said a Honda Accord traveled through the neighborhood, struck a tree and then crashed into a residence, igniting a fire…
