TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)— Thursday’s forecast features a near-record high of 96° and a Heat Advisory across the Tampa Bay.
A Heat Advisory is active for all Tampa Bay area counties on Thursday from 11 am until 8 pm due to heat indices reaching or possibly exceeding 110°.
Hazy conditions will begin to settle in across Tampa Bay on Thursday with the arrival of a thick plume of Saharan dust. The drier air will limit rain chances to a 20-30% chance of a few downpours and storms that may pop up inland throughout the second half of the day.
High temperatures will range from the mid-to-upper 90s on Thursday afternoon, likely tying the previous record high set for Tampa at 96° in 1992.
As moisture returns to the area, rain chances should increase to a 40-50% chance of scattered storms through the upcoming weekend…
