CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Activity from Tropical Storm Bertha has led to dangerous conditions on Clearwater Beach, according to officials.
A Tuesday statement from the City of Clearwater said winds caused by the tropical storm in the Gulf have caused dangerous surf conditions and increased rip current risks.

“Over the past few days, Clearwater Fire & Rescue Beach Lifeguards have conducted more than a dozen water rescues,” the statement read. “Yesterday alone, crews responded to eight rescues, with another five rescues already today.”
