Small Aircraft Runs Off Runway In Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews and Clearwater Police officers responded to Clearwater Airpark, 1000 N. Hercules Ave., at 3:27 p.m. today after a small aircraft ran off the runway.

The pilot, the lone occupant of the plane, was not injured.

This accident follows the horrific plane crash that claimed the lives of three people last week in Clearwater.

Clearwater public safety officials identified the victims of last week’s crash as the pilot, Jemin Patel, 54, of Melbourne Beach; Martha Parry, 86, of 2647 Pagoda Drive; and Mary Ellen Pender, 54, of Treasure Island, who was visiting the mobile home.

The FAA confirms that a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza V35 crashed around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday after the pilot reported engine failure. The FAA stated that only the pilot was on board the aircraft.
