Pinellas County Gardaworld employee stole over $69K from money bags at work: police

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — A Gardaworld employee was accused of stealing over $69,000 from money bags at work.

According to an arrest report from the Pinellas Park Police Department, the thefts occurred throughout the summer while Ronnie Copeland, 24, of Clearwater, was working as a guard messenger.

Copeland was accused of taking money out of bags on four occasions and resealing the bags with super glue. Police said his employer found the super glue in his backpack.

He was accused of stealing $69,702 in total during incidents that occurred on June 13, July 11, August 2 and August 15.

Copeland was charged with four counts of grand theft. He is being held without bond at the Pinellas County Jail.
