A new “upscale” thrift store with a mission to empower young women has made its debut in downtown St. Petersburg. Top Buttons, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, celebrated the grand opening of its first affiliate store, 861 Central Ave., Sept. 20. Top Buttons accepts designer clothing donations and resells them, using the proceeds to fund organizations that support young women in need.
