Battered Florida Coast Prepares for Hurricane Milton

Residents and business owners on Florida’s Gulf Coast intensified their property fortification activity and stepped up evacuations Tuesday as the region prepared to be struck by the second massive storm in less than two weeks. The expected arrival of Hurricane Milton on Wednesday comes in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which left at least 232 people dead and even more homeless after it ripped across six southeastern states late last month.
