Steven Stamkos’ historic tenure with the Tampa Bay Lightning came to a shocking end this off-season when he signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Nashville Predators. There is no question that the Lightning will miss their longtime captain immensely, as he made a significant impact both on and off the ice.

Stamkos will now be a big part of the Predators’ core as they look to take that next step and become legitimate contenders. However, neither the Predators nor Stamkos’ starts to the season have gone according to plan.
Stamkos has zero points and a minus-3 rating in his first four games with the Predators. In addition, the Predators currently sport a 0-4-0 record. The only other team without a single point registered this season is the Colorado Avalanche (0-4-0).
While Stamkos has had a tough start with the Predators, he should bounce back. Keep in mind, the Markham, Ontario native had 40 goals and 81 points in 79 games just this past season with the Lightning. Furthermore, after playing 16 years in Tampa Bay, Stamkos naturally has some adjusting to do with the Predators.
