ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a double shooting that occurred in St. Petersburg on Tuesday evening. Antwon Jones is facing multiple charges, including attempted felony murder.
The shooting took place around 7 p.m. in the 1400 block of 15th Street South. Investigators believe that a conflict between two groups escalated into gunfire. Jones allegedly fired shots, but instead of hitting his intended targets, the bullets struck two bystanders – a 40-year-old man and his 10-year-old nephew – who were playing basketball outside.
The child sustained serious injuries but is now reported to be in stable condition. The uncle was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital…
