Clearwater Beach chapel unveils historic pipe organ just in time for Easter

CLEARWATER, Fla. (BLOOM) – There’s a new sound echoing through Clearwater Beach. One that blends decades of musical craftsmanship with the spirit of community worship. Just in time for Easter, Chapel by the Sea is celebrating its 75th anniversary in unforgettable fashion: with the installation of a 14-foot tall, 32-foot wide pipe organ, lovingly rebuilt and tuned to perfection.

The sanctuary’s newest centerpiece was no small project. Featuring about 1,300 pipes and a rich history of its own, the organ was originally housed at Unity Church in Owensboro, Kentucky. Now, thanks to the master builders at Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders, it has been reimagined and installed to suit the unique acoustics of Chapel by the Sea’s newly renovated worship space.

“This organ represents both our heritage and our future,” said Reverend Dr. Rhonda Blevins. “We envision it not only enhancing our worship services but also becoming a cultural asset for the entire community through concerts and educational opportunities.”…
